The Shemitah – Every Seven Years
Researcher and Professor, J. Carl Laney, Th.D. of Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon, calculates the crossing of the Jordan River by the Children of Israel in the year 1406 B.C. (Tyndale Reference Bible, Concise Bible Commentary, Robert B. Hughes, J. Carl Laney, Deuteronomy, Tyndale Press, Wheaton, IL., 1990, p. 68). We also calculated the date to be approximately of this year (1405-1406 B.C.); therefore, if the 2025 A.D. concludes the 6,000 years of human history as we know it to be there would be 1405 (B.C.) + 2025 (A.D.) = 3,430 years--from the crossing of the Jordan River under Joshua's leadership to the Coming of Messiah.
In reference to the “start date” of the Shemitah the Rabbis suggest that some fifteen (15) years would have had to have transpired prior to the first countdown of the Shemitah in the Land of Israel (viz., 7 years of conquest + 8 years of settlement = 15 years with the first Shemitah being on the 21st or 22nd year or 7 + 8 + 7 = 21/22 years) (Source: Chabad.org). This, however, is NOT, I believe in accord with Joshua’s divine commitment that every place where the sole of his foot tread would belong to Israel (Joshua 1:3); thus, on 10 Nisan 1405 B.C. the Shemitah countdown commenced.
Does Chabad Validate the Coming of Messiah in 2025 A.D.?
Incidentally, the Chabad site suggests the year of the Jordan crossing took place in 1273 B.C. (not 1405 B.C., our date) and that the Shemittah/Shemitah countdown from 1273 B.C. would have been in 1258 B.C. (fifteen years later) with the first actual Shemitah year being in 1250/1251 B.C. (or 1273 less 21/22 years = 1250/1251 B.C.) whereas our countdown would have commenced in 1405 B.C. with the first Shemitah year being in 1398/1397 B.C.
As soon as the Jews settled in the Holy Land,1 they began to count and observe seven-year cycles. Every cycle would culminate in a Sabbatical year,2 known as Shemittah,3 literally: “to release.” [Chabad.org footnote #1: The first cycle started after the years of conquering and dividing the land, in the fifteenth year after they cross the Jordan River (1258 BCE)] (My emphasis.)
I find it somewhat mystifying that Chabad.org would suggest the year 1273 B.C. instead of 1405 B.C. for the crossing of the Jordan River in that these two dates are but 132 years apart (so it would seem). This began to add further credibility to the charge that some 243 years have been obfuscated from the Seder Olam Rabbah Hebrew Calendar calculations.
Could it be that scarcely some 111 years separate the two calendars (Gregorian/Seder Olam Rabbah) in that our Jordan River crossings are but 111 years apart (i.e., 243 years less 132 years = 111 years)? Moreover, a simple chronological accounting would produce the following: 1273 B.C. (meaning 1273 years before the birth of Christ) + 2015 A.D. (today's date as 2015 years) = 3,288 years + the would-be 10 years unto 2025 A.D. (our possible date for the coming of Messiah) = 3,298 years. Depending on Adam's creation date, if it were in 4004 B.C. then we would add to the 3,298 years an additional 2,731 years (4004 B.C. less 1273 B.C. = 2,731 years). This would bring our total "Chabad years" to 3,298 + 2,731 = 6,029 years which is precisely 29 years OVER the 6,000 years allotted to man; therefore, once again, these "29 years" exposes the age of Messiah at the commencement of His ministry (Luke 3:23) and perfectly reconciles with the dates of J. R. Church (J. R. Church, Prophecy in the News, who uses Bishop James Ussher's 4004 B.C. date as the date of Adam's creation + 2025 A.D. = 6,029 years).
Since (not "if") Chabad's date of Jordan's crossing is 1273 B.C. (1258 + 15 years = 1273 B.C.) we would of necessity need to know precisely their calculation as to the year of Adam's creation, right? If we are to use the Seder Olam Rabbah's 5776 AM date (2015-6 A.D.) and conform our immediate calendar date to 2015 A.D., then we would add 1273 B.C. + 2015 A.D. and immediately (already) have 3,288 years. Since 5776 allegedly marks the years from Adam's creation using the Seder Olam Rabbah, we would then from 5,776 years subtract 3,288 years and arrive at 2,488 years.
These 2,488 years would take us back to the creation of Adam in the Gregorian year via this calculation: 1273 B.C. + 2,488 years = 3761 B.C. vs. 4004 B.C. (Ussher's date of Adam's creation). Thus, these two dates would be 243 years apart--precisely what we have today in that Ussher's dates of 4004 B.C. + 2015 A.D. = (in years) to 6,019 years. When we subtract 5,776 years from 6,019 years we get a remainder of 243 years.
Now, for the Seder Olam Rabbah and the Chabad.org chronologies the following could constitute a chronological problem. Chabad.org gives the date of 2448 AM or 1313 BCE as the date of the first Passover in Egypt. There are some 40 years separating 1313 BCE and the crossing of the Jordan River (approximately); thus 1313 BCE vs. 1273 BCE is absolutely precise. We observe that 1313 BCE being the first Passover date vs. our own date of 1437 BCE is some 124 years apart; again, not 243 years (however, the creation of Adam's date would have to be similar for the full accounting).
If we were, however, to take the Chabad.org date of 1313 BCE as the date of the first Passover/Exodus from Egypt and subtract the 480 years + the 10 years unto the dedication of Solomon's Temple for a total of 490 years, then we would subtract these 490 years from the 1313 BCE date in accordance with 1 Kings 6:1 and arrive at the date of 823 BCE as the date of Solomon's Temple dedication. Wikipedia gives the date of Solomon's dedication as 957 BCE a differential of some 134 years from 823 BCE (i.e., 823 BCE + 134 BCE = 957 BCE) not our 124 year differential in that our calculations determined that the Exodus took place in 1437 BCE less 490 years to Solomon's Dedication = 947 BCE. Lambert Dolphin (a "temple enthusiast") marks the dedication of Solomon's Temple in the year 953 BCE (only 6 years from our date of 947 BCE).
If we take 1313 BCE as the first Passover date we find this date in total conflict with virtually all current historical accounting of Israel's Exodus from Egypt. A cursory Google search has the date of the Exodus from 1400 BCE (Biblical Archaeology Review) to 1446 BCE. This, of course, lends credibility to our date of 1437 BCE. Prof. Carl Laney (Western Seminary, Portland, OR) calculates the date of the first Passover/Exodus to be 1446 BCE (perhaps using Edwin R. Thiel's date of the Exodus). From the reliability of Conservapedia we find the following:
Today Ussher's original date is sharply contested. The three contenders for the date of the Exodus are:
- 1491 BC (Ussher)
- 1445-1446 BC ("The Early Date")
- 1290 BC ("The Late Date")
Virtually all of the arguments for the Late Date rest solely on arguments from conventional Egyptian chronology [Note: Exceedingly undependable according to this article in Consevapedia due to suceeding Pharaohs destroying historical traces of previous Pharaohs]. The Early Date is much better supported from Scripture, which specifically requires four hundred eighty years between the Exodus and the groundbreaking of the Temple built by Solomon (1 Kings 6:1). Several archaeologists have looked for battle-damage and other evidence for the Early Date in and around Jericho, Ai, and Hazor, and have found it. (Source: Lorenzini, D. Massimiliano. The Exodus of Israel was the event described in the Bible when the Hebrews left Egyptian slavery for the Promised Land under the leadership of Moses. The actual date at which this event took place has been the subject of serious study, speculation, and controversy. Currently, debate is centered on two dates: an early date of 1441 BC and a late date of 1290 BC.
The unedited full-text Jewish Encyclopedia (JE) states:
Third king of all Israel [i.e., King Solomon]; reigned from about 971 to 931 B.C ; second son of David and Bath-sheba (II Sam. xii. 23-25). He was called Jedidiah (= "beloved of Yhwh") by Nathan the prophet, the Chronicler (I Chron. xxii. 9) assuming that David was told by Yhwh that his son's name should be Solomon (="peaceful").
It can be chronologically calculated that some 14 years transpired between the commencement of the reign of King Solomon (1 Kings 6:37-38; 2 Chron. 3:2; 1 Kings 7:1) and the actual dedication of Solomon's Temple. Using the JE dates of 971 B.C. to 931 B.C. as the reign of King Solomon this would mean that in the year 971 B.C. less 14 years = 957 B.C. is the year of Solomon's Temple Dedication--in line with Wikipedia's 957 B.C. date and close to Dolphin's 953 B.C. and relatively within 10 years of our 947 B.C. date.
By "chronological definition" the Chabad (Orthodox) date of 823 BCE vs. our 947 BCE date or the 957 BCE date (Wikipedia/Jewish Encyclopedia) is some 124 to 134 years off. These "124 to 134 years" are further exacerbated by these statements from J. R. Church's Daniel Reveals the Bloodline of the Antichrist (pp. 245-249):
Instead of 13 Medo/Persian kings over a period of 207 years, the Seder Olam lists only five kings over a period of 53 years [Church lists the 13 kings and their reigns.].
Therefore, 207 years less 53 years = 154 years. These two accounts alone (154 years [Persian king issues] + 124 [Solomon's Dedication issues] equal to some 278 years discrepancy or some 34 years beyond the original 243 years discrepancy originally calculated by J. R. Church (p. 238, Ibid.). Church goes further in quoting Rabbi Simon Schwab who admits the Persian king discrepancies in his Comparative Jewish Chronology, page 188:
"It should have been possible that our Sages--for some unknown reason--had covered up a certain historic period and purposely eliminated and suppressed all records and other material pertaining thereto. If so, what might have been their compelling reason for so unusual a procedure? Nothing short of a Divine command could have promoted . . . those saintly 'men of truth' to leave out completely from our annals a period of 165 years [actually 164 years] and to correct all data and historic tables in such a fashion that the subsequent chronological gap could escape being noticed by countless generations, known to a few initiates only who were dutybound to keep the secret to themselves." (Quoting Schawb)
Schwab and others went on to suggest that they might have falsified the dates in order to confuse anyone who might try to use the prophecies of Daniel to predict the time of the Messiah's coming. The truth is, sometime between A.D. 135-160, Yose ben Halafta, student of Rabbi Akiva and admirer of Bar Kokhbah, changed the dating so that Daniel's seventy weeks would point to Bar Kokhbah as their predicted Messiah, rather than Jesus. He deliberately pointed generations of Jews away from Jesus, the true Messiah! (Daniel Reveals the Bloodline of the Antichrist, J. R. Church, pp. 248-9) (Quoting Church)
J. R. Church suggests that Yose ben Halafta was able to justify this obfuscation of the 164 years because Daniel 11:1-4 mentions that there would "yet [be] three kings [after Cyrus] in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all." Church furher elaborates:
Because no other kings are mentioned in this passage, Halafta took the opportunity to suggest that there were only five Persian monarchs--the four in the prophecy, plus the one who would be defeated . . . However, Persian and Greek historians list eight more--a total of 13 Medo/Persian kings reigning over a period of 207 years. Why were they left out of Daniel's vision in chapter 11? It is because of a timed prophecy in Daniel's ninth chapter. Remember the first seven weeks in the prophecy of the seventy weeks? God scheduled a gap between the seventh and eighth Sabbatical cycles, which Christian theologians seem to have overlooked. Beginning with the death of Ahasuerus in the Sabbatical Year of 485 B.C., the counting of "weeks" stopped for the next 77 years of "troublous times" (Dan. 9:25), and commenced again in 408 B.C. This is the reason only four Persian kings are mentioned in Daniel's last vision in chapter 11 (Ibid. pp. 249-50).
When we consider, in summary, the discrepancy of the 132 years (crossing of the Jordan River: 1405 B.C. vs. 1273 B.C. which impacts on the start date of Adam's creation); the discrepancy of the 124/134 years (between the 823 BCE Chabad date and our 947 BCE or 957 BCE date from Passover to the Dedication of Solomon's Temple . . . less the 40 years of the Wilderness Wanderings) or 124 years less 40 years = 84 years; coupled with the 164 years due to the discrepancies found in the histories of the Persian kings . . . all this provides overwhelming evidence that the Seder Olam Rabbah is simply not an accurate accounting of the 6,000 years assigned to man's days. The original discrepancy of 243 years between the Sedar Olam Rabbah and the Gregorian Calendar dates as argued by J. R. Church seem altogether plausible--there are simply far too many inconsistencies wrought by both history and by Jewish chronologists/historians themselves, to consider chronological authenticity to the Sedar Olam Rabbah.
The Epic or Grand Jubilee Cycles of 490 Years
Daniel 9:24-29 lays out 70 Weeks of 7s (Heptad) or 70 x 7 = 490 years which are equal to an Epic or Grand Jubilee Cycle of 490 years; whereas a Jubilee Cycle is equal to 49 years or 7 x 7 = 49 years (Leviticus 25:8-9) with the Trumpet of Jubilee sounding on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land—which date, 10 Tishrei, we suggest is the day on which the Hebrew Calendar shall be reversed “as it was in the days of Noah” in which the month of Tishrei was the first month, not the seventh month—but that it marks THE TRUMPET TO SOUND THROUGHOUT ALL YOUR LAND! Thus shall begin the yet future WRATH OF THE LAMB.
The significance of these 3,430 years are seen when we divide 3,430 years by 490 = 7 Epic/Grand Jubilee Cycles of 490 years each; therefore: 490 sets of Shemitah (7) = 3,430 years or 70 years x 49 = 3,430 years. Furthermore, if we take the entire 6,000 years of man’s days and divide them by 490 = 12 with a remainder of 120 or put another way: We can calculate 490 years X 12 equal to 5,880 years. If we divide this 5,880 ÷ 49 (Jubilee) = 120. Therefore, there are 120 Jubilee Years (50th Year) in 5,880 years leaving a remainder of 120 years. “Man’s days shall be 120 years” (Genesis 6:3).
The controversy over the consecration of the fiftieth year (Lev. 25:10) in which the Israelites were to “proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants . . . It shall be a Jubilee for you . . . That fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you” (Lev. 25:11) brings in question whether or not the succeeding year after the 49 years of Jubilee is or is not the commencement of the succeeding 49 years. Does the 50th year stand alone or is it the first year of the new 49-year cycle? This is a rather moot point in that the Hebrew Calendar when calculating the full 6,000 years is a spectacular demonstration that there are 120 of these 49-year segments included in the 5,880 years bringing the total in years up to 6,000 (5,880 + 120 years = 6,000 years or one could say that there are 120ea. 50-year Jubilee “Long Count” Cycles in 6,000 years or 6000 ÷ 50 = 120 "Long Count" Cycles).
Also, as you can see from the chart at the comomencement of Part 2 of this mini-series, Moses’ life of 120 years becomes a stupendous chronological intrusion into the chronologies in that there are 5 sets of 490 Grand Jubilee Cycles between Adam’s Creation and the birth of Moses and then after Moses’ death there are 7 major Grand Jubilee Cycles for a total of 12 (again) or 5 x 490 years = 2,450 years (Adam’s creation in 3975 B.C. to the birth of Moses in 1525 B.C. + 120 years (Moses’ life to the crossing of the Jordan River by the Children of Israel in 1405 B.C.) + 7 x 490 years = 3,430 years = 6,000 years (or 2,450 years + 120 years + 3,430 years = 6,000 years). Likewise, the 3975 B.C. unto 2025 A.D. provide a perfect fit for these Epic Jubilee Cycles interspersed with the life of Moses sandwiched between the two.
It is of great interest to this author that these 490-year allotments of 5 sets and 7 sets have other numeric properties of repute in the following:
3975 B.C. to 1525 B.C.

5 sets of 490-Year Epic Jubilee Cycles = 5 x 490 = 2450 Years
1525 B.C. to 1405 B.C.

Furthermore, if the 120 years is removed and placed prior to the Second Coming of Messiah, then we would be looking at “two possibilities of 120 years” – therefore:
Moses' 120 years
120 years x 360-day prophetic year = 43,200 or “432”
432 is the Fractal of the Sun’s 432,000-mile radius
The 120 years before Messiah's Coming
120 years x 360-day prophetic year = 43,200 or “432”
432 + 432 = 864 = the Fractal of the Sun’s 864,000-mile diameter
From the commencement of the 70th Week on any given Passover unto the terminus of the Seventieth Week, there would be 2520 days. There would be 8 such Passovers within the Week; however, we affirm that the Coming of the Lord is preceded by the Rapture and Resurrection of the Church (to the heavens) and the sealing of Israel's 144,000 (upon the earth) and then unto the 1290th Day or 30 days of desolations added which is the time that the Wrath of the Lamb has/will come!
With the reversal of the Hebrew Calendar unto “the days of Noah” wherein the month of Tishrei was the first, not the seventh month—and this reversal would take place on 14 Nisan, Passover—the dates, however, would not be 14 to 14 but 14 Nisan to 10 Tishrei with the understanding that the 4 extra days from 10 Nisan to 14 Nisan were already fulfilled in Messiah’s Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem on that Palm Sunday, 10 Nisan, in fulfillment of Daniel 9:26—“Until Messiah the Prince” at the conclusion of the 62 weeks + 7 weeks or the 69th Week of Daniel’s Seventy Week’s prophecy. The acknowledgement of Jesus as Messiah on 10 Nisan provided a 4-day inspection of the Pascal Lamb in accordance with Exodus 12:1-7; thus, the Lamb was slain on 13 Nisan (Passover Preparation Day) and eaten on Passover, 14 Nisan. The 4-day inspection was set over a 3.5-day time frame (Sunday 12 hours-10 Nisan; Monday 24 hours-11 Nisan; Tuesday 24 hours-12 Nisan; and Wednesday 24 hours-13 Nisan = 84 hours or 3.5 days over a 4-day timeframe.).
Again, we affirm that the Hebrew Calendar will be supernaturally reversed to the DAYS OF NOAH just as it was at the first Passover (Nisan was the 7th Month and it became the 1st Month at the first Passover—so, although now Tishrei is the 7th Month, it will then at the close of the Seventieth Week become the 1st Month: “As in the Days of Noah—so shall it also be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man”--Matthew 24:37).
Thus, Passover 14 Nisan will revert to 10 Tishrei (with the 4 days omitted because the Pascal Lamb has been offered and needs no “inspection”) but as He commenced His 3 years and 6 month earthly ministry on the Day of Atonement (John 1:29), so will He commence His judgment, not as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world—but on the “next day” John the Baptist declared: “Behold, the Lamb of God.” He has already taken away the sin of the world—now He comes as the WRATH OF THE LAMB to mete out His vengeance! (Ref. John 1:29, 35-36)
From the Feast of Trumpets to the Day of Atonement when the TRUMPET IS BLOWN THROUGHOUT THE LAND—AS IN LIBERTY are seen as one set of “10—Tishrei 1 through Tishrei 10 (as in LAST TRUMP—for He has come to judge the “10” as in 10 horns, 10 kings, 10 crowns, 1/10 of the great city, 10 days in prison, and the 10-toed Image of the Beast—“10” is NOT a good number in the Revelation) – that’s when the Wrath of the Lamb commences . . . so you get a “twofer” because the Son’s Wrath is being poured out based on His blood/Lamb of God! His ministry commenced as the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world by His blood. Our redemption is based upon the spotless Lamb of God offered for us and our salvation . . . the Wrath of the Lamb is likewise based upon His shed blood and connotes His worthiness to judge righteously; therefore, He is introduced as WORTHY IS THE LAMB WHO WAS SLAIN (Rev. 5:6, 12; 6:1, 16-17),
Thus, His ministry commenced on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement in His First Coming as the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world; and His ministry concludes, if you would, on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement in His Second Coming, again, as the triumphant Lamb of God Who is worthy to judge.
The Feast of Trumpets falls on Rosh HaShanah (1 Tishrei) the first day of the civil year—for the Lamb has come to judge them “who dwell on the earth.” These 10 days are for self-examination and introspection of one’s shortcomings and sin—then on Tishrei 10, the High Priest takes the blood and sprinkles it upon the Mercy Seat in the Holiest of All for the “sins of the people.” Since the time of “repentance is over”—for the Lamb of God has already taken away the sins of the world; therefore, we are immediately at the 10th day of Tishrei, Yom Kippur. Our countdown begins on 10 Tishrei. with the 10 Days of Awe at the “Last Trumpet” will sound (Lev. 23:27; 25:9) and the "10" shall be judged (10 kings, 10 crowns, 10 horns, 1/10 of the Great City, 10 toes, 10 days in prison—all the 10s of Revelation are “evil”)—even so, shall the Lamb's Wrath commence on the 10th Day of Tishrei and persist 30 days unto 10/11 Cheshvan when He shall come again in Glory with all His saints--this is Rachel's commemoration and the Rabbis attest Messiah's actual and precise day of His visitation!
Scores of Christian expositors and apologists accord the final three Festival Days on the Hebrew Calendar with immense prophetic significance. The conundrum has been this: Did not Jesus fulfill the sprinkling of His Own blood upon the altar, as High Priest, for the sins of the world, at His First Coming--wholly symbolic of the Day of Atonement? Did He not atone for the sins of the world? Absolutely. So how can the Day of Atonement be one of the Feast Days yet future to be fulfilled as one of the "Fall Feast Days" on the Hebrew Calendar if He has already fulfilled the Day of Atonement with His Own blood? This is the only answer to this conundrum: The Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world came to us as the Pascal Lamb offering, fulfilling Passover and Whose blood provided atonement for us and our salvation in that He Himself entered the Holiest of All and offered His own blood for our atonement; to wit:
23 Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;
25 not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another—
26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Hebrew 9:28 confirms: "To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, APART FROM SIN (for at His First Coming He made atonement for our sins), for salvation (for at His Second Coming He shall pass final judgment upon all the ungodly--Jude 15) and complete the full redemption of our bodies via the resurrection or rapture. The Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world looks back to the cross--the Wrath of the Lamb looks forward at His Coming in Glory to complete the work--"till His enemies are made His footstool" . . .
But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever,
sat down at the right hand of God,
from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.
For by one offering He has pefected forever those who are being sanctified.

Many insist that actual dates of the end-time events discussed so far cannot be set. However, although we cannot be absolutely certain of the exact years, I believe that some or all of the events will fall on certain dates on the Hebrew calendar. Jesus already has fulfilled each of the four Hebrew Spring festivals/holy days (sacrifice and death on Passover, Aviv 14 [Nisan 14]; lying in the grave on the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Aviv 15 [Nisan 15]; resurrection on the Feast of Firstfruits, Aviv 17 [Nisan 17]; and supernatural manifestation of His presence, via the Holy Spirit, on Shavuot, Sivan 6 [Pentecost]). Therefore, I feel certain that Jesus will fulfill each of the three Hebrew Fall festivals/holy Days as well.
I believe the main Rapture of the Church will take place on a certain Rosh HaShanah or Yom Teruah (which is celebrated on Tishrei 1 and 2) [aka, Feast of Trumpets], because it will be a vast assemblage (of all who have accepted Jesus) going up to meet Him in the air (see “the great assemblage”: C-5, P-I). It will precede the Day of the Lord period by a very short time, maybe as much as a week (as Noah entered the ark 7 days before the Flood—Gen. 7:7, 10).
It should be noted that Rosh HaShanah [or "haShanah"] begins at the new moon, on a Rosh Chodesh. Before methods were available to calculate the exact time of each new moon, no one knew the day or hour the new moon would occur until two witnesses, peering into the sky, detected the first minute sliver of the waxing moon. Upon their announcement, Rosh haShanah officially would begin. Thus, when Jesus said, “No one knows about that day or hour [of His return in the clouds] . . . ” (Matt. 24:36a), He most likely was making a specific reference to Rosh haShanah. The 40-Days of Trumpet Blasts 1 Elul to 10 Tishrei
Trumpets are blown for forty days prior to 10 Tishrei—when the LAST TRUMPET shall sound.
A special season known as Teshuvah, which in Hebrew means “to return or repent,” begins on the first day of the month of Elul and continues 40 days, ending with Yom Kippur [Day of Atonement—10 Tishrei]. Thirty days into Teshuvah, on Tishrei l, comes Rosh HaShanah. This begins a final ten-day period beginning on Rosh HaShanah and ending on Yom Kippur. These are known as the High Holy Days and as the Awesome Days (Yamim Nora'im, the days of awe). The sabbath that falls within this ten-day period is called Shabbat Shuvah, the Sabbath of Return. Five days after Yom Kippur is Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles. Teshuvah begins on Elul 1 and concludes on Tishrei 10, Yom Kippur. Each morning during the 30 days of the month of Elul, the trumpet (shofar) or ram's horn is blown to warn the people to repent and return to G-d.
Teshuvah (repentance) speaks to all people. Those who believe in the Messiah are called to examine their lives and see where they have departed from G-d. It is a call to examine the Scriptures and the evidence that the Messiah was who He said He was.
G-d has always had a heart to warn people before He proclaims judgment. G-d warned the people before the flood, and He warned Nineveh before it was ruined. He does not want anyone to receive the wrath of His judgment (Ezekiel [Yechezekel] 18:21-23, 30-32; Zephaniah 2:1-3; 33:1-7; 2 Peter 3:9).
The whole month of Elul [30 days before Tishrei] is a 30-day process of preparation through personal examination and repentance for the coming High Holy Days. The shofar is blown after every morning service. Psalm 27, which begins with “The Lord is my light and my salvation,” is also recited at the end of the morning and evening liturgy. The message from Elul 1 to Rosh HaShanah is clear: Repent before Rosh HaShanah. Don’t wait until after Rosh HaShanah, or you will find yourself in the Days of Awe.
Unlike other festivals that are celebrated in the Diaspora (the dispersion, referring to Jews who live outside of the Holy Land of Israel) Rosh HaShanah is celebrated for two days because of uncertainty about observing the festivals on the correct calendar day. Rosh HaShanah is the only holiday celebrated for two days in Israel. As with all other festivals, the uncertainty was involved in a calendar that depended on when the new moon was promulgated, designating the beginning of each new month by the rabbinical court in Jerusalem (Yerushalayim) in ancient times. The problem of Rosh HaShanah is heightened by the fact that it falls on Rosh Chodesh, the new moon itself. Therefore, even in Jerusalem (Yerushalayim), it would have been difficult to let everyone know in time that the New Year had begun. To solve this problem, a two-day Rosh HaShanah was practiced even in Israel. Creating a two-day Rosh HaShanah was also intended to strengthen observance of each day; in the rabbinic view, the two days are regarded as a yoma arikhta, one long day.
Teruah means "an awakening blast." A theme associated with Rosh HaShanah is the theme "to awake." Teruah is also translated as "shout." The Book of Isaiah (Yeshayahu), chapter 12, puts the shouting in the context of the thousand-year reign of Messiah, the Athid Lavo. The Messianic era and shout is mentioned in Isaiah (Yeshayahu) 42:11; 44:23; Jeremiah (Yermiyahu) 31:7; and Zephaniah 3:14. The first coming of Yeshua is associated with a shout in Zechariah 9:9. What I’m getting at here is the 40-days (Elul) commences the sounding of the trumpet/shofar broken into two segments of 30 days (month of Elul) and 10 days from 1 Tishrei to 10 Tishrei, with the latter segment known as the “10 Days of Awe.” The number “40” connotes judgment and testing or trial throughout the Scripture; the “10” as we have discovered in the prophetic book of Revelation connotes judgment “upon” the “10” throughout the Revelation (10 kings, 10 horns, 10 crowns, etc.). There is most definitely a resounding blast of the Shofar on Rosh Hashanah, 1 Tishrei; however, the “number set” is a full 40 days and does not conclude until 10 Tishrei when the blood is sprinkled upon the Mercy Seat and then the LAST TRUMP is sounded; to wit:
“Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month [i.e., 10 Tishrei]; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land. And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you . . .” (Lev. 25:9-10).
Although the 10 Days of Awe commences on 1 Tishrei as the Feast of Trumpets, its relative meaning is somewhat ambiguous in that it is the only feast day purposefully celebrated over a two-day timeframe because of issues connected with the New Moon and its timing (hence, “no man knows the day nor the hour” in the minds of some).
Secondly, it simply extends the 40-day timeframe from the commencement of the month of Elul to 10 Tishrei—in other words in calls Israel to assemble in intense preparation for Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement and draws attention to the “10 Days” or the “10.” Thus, the “sounding of the seven-fold trumpet” found in Revelation 8:6 announces the Wrath of the Lamb and the completion (the Number “7”) of its perfection—the seven angels were given seven trumpets (Rev. 8:1) but their “sounding” is akin to the day when “seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of ram’s horns before the ark…But the seventh day you shall march around the city [i.e., Jericho] seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets” (Joshua 6:4).
In other words—there were the following “7s”: 7th Day, 7 priests, 7 trumpets, 7 circumnavigations. On the final and seventh day there is this “unified” expression of the sound of the rams’ horns—it is seven but it is one blast. It is somewhat fascinating to note that if 7 priests circumnavigated Jericho, then their 7 trumpets did as well and the 7th Day was a 360 degree rotation of the Earth that very day with the very 7 circumnavigations; thus, 4 X 7 = 28 X 360 = 10,080 or, eliminating zeroes, "18" which is the cardinal number of the New Jerusalem 18,000-mile, 12-edged perimeter; i.e., what they were doing was wholly in keeping with that "City Whose Builder and Maker is God" (Heb. 11:10).
What is subsequently introduced is the Almighty’s announcement that the Lamb of God, His Wrath, is pronouncing judgment upon the “10” and with the “sounding” of the Trumpet from 10 Tishrei there will be 30 days unto 10/11 Cheshvan when the Wrath of the Lamb is poured out upon Babylon the Great and all those who have taken the Mark of the Beast—upon “all them that dwell on the earth” (Rev. 3:10). The repeated phrase in the Revelation--"they that dwell on the earth" or "the inhabitants of the earth" has a much more profound meaning than "living on the earth" - but as Ray Stedman in his text, God's Final Word, expounds on page 248-49 Revelation 13:7-8:
Those who ridicule and slander people who believe in God also commit a form of blasphemy. When John speaks in this passage of "those who live in heaven" (and a more precise translatiion would be "those who tabernacle in haven"), he is not speaking of those who have died and gone to heaven, but of saints who live on the earth yet whose lives are governed by heavenly realities. They "tabernacles in heaven" because they believe in the unseen spiritual realm of heaven and their thinking is guided by the Word of God. As Christians, we are strangers and sojourners on the earth, and our citizenship (as the apostle Paul says) is in heaven [Phil. 3:20].
In verse 8 there is a reference to "All inhabitants of the earth." This sentence in verse 8 should actually read, "All the earth dwellers will worship the beast." We have seen this term before in Revelation, and it is in reference not to those who live on planet Earth, but to those who live only for this world, the materialists and humanists who have no use for heavenly things, no heavenly citizenship, no life except the so-called "good life" here on earth.
In contrast to these materialistic "earth dwellers" are "those who tabernacle in heaven," whose names are "written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world."
The 70th Week should commence on a Passover and end on a Passover and then "as in the Days of Noah" the Hebrew Calendar will revert back to its original sequence wherein Nisan shall again become the 7th Month and Tishrei will become the 1st Month--therefore the 3 Fall Feast Days will then proceed to their completion in Christ: 1-10 Feast of Trumpets unto Day of Atonement (the "twofer") which sounds the Last Trumpet on 10 Tishrei when the Rapture/Resurrection takes place and the Wrath of the Lamb/Day of the Lord commences for 30 days (unto the 1290th Day of Desolation) and then will appear the Sun of Righteousness (with all His saints) with healing in His wings (Mal. 4:1-2) on 10/11 Cheshvan (the Commemoration of Rachel's death; having died in child birth, bearing Benjamin--even so, do the Rabbis concur with this very date!) and then 45 days of Blessing wherein BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, HOSANNA is heard for then shall all Israel be saved!
Then 10/11 Heshvan/Cheshvan (30 days from 10 Tishrei as per Dan. 12:11) is, I affirm, the Second Coming of Messiah and then 45 days thereafter will be “To Anoint the Most Holy Place” (Dan. 9:24) at the Feast of Dedication (4th Temple) on 24/25 Kislev (75 days from 10 Tishrei—see Dan. 12:12) and then an entire 360-day year from this 10 Tishrei to another 10 Tishrei + 5 days unto the very first Feast of Tabernacles on 15 Tishrei.
The 2880 and 2885 of the Eighth Year
Purposefully, I am reviewing this most incredible EIGHTH YEAR--for it is so prophetically significant to us all. Within this 10 Tishrei to 10 Tishrei year (the EIGHTH YEAR) there is a 14/15 Adar—the final Blood Moon of the two sets of Triad Blood Moons between 2017 A.D. and 2026 A.D. In the second set of Triad Blood Moons falling between 2025 A.D. and 2026 A.D. the fourth and sixth Blood Moons in sync with the Gregorian Calendar will fall on the Hebrew Calendar date of Purim in celebration of the defeat of the Antichrist prototype, Haman, with some 210 days unto the initial Feast of Tabernacles after the coming of Messiah on 10/11 Cheshvan. Indeed, Haman's "10 sons" met their fate upon the gallows as did their father, making their number set "11" which is indicative of the "11th Horn" or the Antichrist (Esther 9:7-10).
The 45 days between 10/11 Cheshvan and 24/25 Kislev displays the coming of the Sun of Righteousness (Malachi 4:1-2) and climaxes at the very Feast of Dedication to ANOINT THE MOST HOLY PLACE (Dan. 9:24). The very dedication of the Millennial Temple—but then there shall be 80 days to Purim (24/25 Kislev to 14/15 Adar) and the celebration of the defeat of Antichrist/Haman and his 10 sons + Haman = 11 and that is the number of the AC-Beast.
Thus at the end of the 45 days of blessing shall be “TO ANOINT THE MOST HOLY PLACE” (Dan. 9:24) on 24/25 Kislev—Feast of Dedication (for there are precisely 45 days between 10/11 Cheshvan and 24/25 Kislev) and then the very first Feast of Tabernacles, and the 7th Feast Day on 15 Tishrei (some 2885 days from the very commencement of the 70th Week unto that date); however, we count from 10 Tishrei unto 10 Tishrei (in this extraordinary and 8th year) some 2880 days X 5 (5 days separating 10 Tishrei and 15 Tishrei) = 14,400 or “144” for the New Jerusalem is in view wherein first the “288” is seen as two sets of “144” wherein the gates of the Holy City shall bear the names of the 12 Patriarchs of Israel (tribes) for the nations shall go in and out of these gates and the 12 Foundations shall be named for the 12 Apostles of the Lamb, the Church; indeed, their "144" is seen in Revelation 7 (Israel) and in Revelation 14 (the Church).
Then the second set of 210 days from Purim (14/15 Adar) to the very first Feast of Tabernacles (Tishrei 15, Zech. 14)—this is the second set of “210”—the first set being the 7 months cleansing of the land after the Gog-Magog War in Ezekiel 39:12); thus: 2520 + 360 Days (10 Tishrei to 10 Tishrei) = 2880 days X 5 days unto 15 Tishrei, the very first Feast of Tabernacles in the Millennial Rule and Reign.
When we multiply 5 x 288 = 1,440 or 5 x 2880 = 14,400, then the “144” of the New Jerusalem’s Wall (Rev. 21:17) is seen; likewise, each of the 6 faces of the cubed New Jerusalem bear these dimensions: 12,000 furlongs x 12,000 furlongs = 144,000,000 sq. furlongs.
And we must rejoice for 2880 days x 360 degree rotation of the Earth on each day = 1,036,800 degrees “seen as” 1...36...8 or God/Christ within the New Jerusalem (God being 360 degrees of a circle) and the “18” being the 18,000 mile, 12-edged cube of the New Jerusalem or “Housed within the New Jerusalem is GOD” in fulfillment of Revelation 21:3: “And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people . . . God Himself will be with them and be their God.”
We rejoice again for 1,036,800 (if viewed as hours) X 24 hours (24 elders being Israel’s 12 patriarchs and the Church’s 12 apostles of the Lamb) = 24,883,200 hours or 24,883.2 miles which is a fractal of the “mean circumference” of the Earth @ 24,883.2 miles (many ref. on this); thus, THE EARTH IS THE LORD'S!
Thus, the New Jerusalem is MULTI-DIMENSIONAL with both an earthly perspective (Israel) and a heavenly perspective (the Church and Congregation of the First Born—all the saints from Adam—Hebrews 12:23)—Israel and the Church shall keep their divinely orchestrated distinctions but NEVER AGAIN separated!
Yes, the Glorified Son of Man seen in Jacob’s dream, the ladder to heaven’s portal/gate and promised to Nathaniel by Jesus upon his confession that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God—shall on that day utterly smash the dimensional divide between Heaven and Earth for He alone has brought man to God as the Son of God and brought God to man as the Son of Man. We confess He is the Son of God—but He comes as the Son of Man, for He overcame as a MAN: THERE IS A MAN IN THE GLORY and He’s coming for His Bride!
Again, the 210 days between 14/15 Adar unto 14/15 Tishrei or unto the first Feast of Tabernacles—comports to the 210 days or 7 months found in the “cleansing of the land” in Ezekiel 39 after the Gog-Magog War. It is purely symbolic in the establishment and preparation for the very first 15 Tishrei/Feast of Tabernacles and is the “2.1” “Measure of Christ” (Eph. 4:13) Who has defeated the Antichrist (Purim) and is therefore exceedingly significant in that a full-blown Blood Moon (and the very last one) that shall appear in the 2nd set of triad blood moons.
Also, we find that 210 days x 24 hours = 5,040 hours, which you know by now is not only two sets of 2520 but the very number Plato calculated as the “Optimum Number for Societal Bliss” (but only through Messiah) X 60 minutes in an hour = 302,400 minutes or the fractal/resemblance of the Wall of the New Jerusalem at 144 cubits (2.1 ft.) = 302.4 feet or 3024 = 3024 X 60 seconds = 18,144,000 seconds in 210 days “seen as” 18…144 both of which are reflections of the very New Jerusalem herself.
When we take 288 and 210 as factors we find that 288 X 210 = 60,480 ÷ 2 = 30,240 or the “3024” Wall of the New Jerusalem at 302.4 Ft. and, of course, the base perimeter in feet of the Great Pyramid of Giza (756 Ft. x 4 = 3024 Ft. perimeter); in fulfillment, I believe, of Isaiah 19:19. Now, all will know that the Almighty's math is absolutely accurate to the second!
The Two Groups of 144,000 from Revelation
There is a unfortunate spat of eschatological ignorance which seems to pervade a goodly number of our evangelical brethren who espouse a pre-tribulational rapture of the Church and de facto obviate the Church’s testimony at the apex of prophetic potential: The Seventieth Week of Daniel. They have the notion that somehow we pre-wrath/post-trib aspirants do not see Israel as a significant part of the end times’ scenario. Furthermore, they have determined that some of us out here in the “prophetic hinterlands” are so theologically obtuse that we have laid aside the significance of the “144,000 undefiled Jews” of Revelation 7 and have suggested that they may not be Jews and/or Israel at all!
The "lighting rods" attracting the ire of the pre-tribulatioinal brethren are three ministers of the gospel and their involvement with and defense of a newly-released nearly five hour documentary entitled: LEFT BEHIND OR LED ASTRAY...Examining the Origins of the Secret Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Joel Richardson, Jacob Prasch and Joe Schimmel have created shock waves throughout the premillenarian community with their involvement in this documentary which has either been acclaimed for its exposures or ridiculed by its accusers.
Perhaps their strident contention is a result that they themselves conflate the two groups of 144,000 mentioned in Revelation 7 (decisively Israel) sealed upon the earth with the “servants of God” emblazoned on their foreheads, which obviously occurs immediately after the Sixth Seal and prior to the Seventh Seal WITH the 144,000 before the Throne of God and the Lamb atop the heavenly Mt. Zion in Revelation 14:1-5—which we acclaim is indicative of the Church’s heavenly witness and who have the “Father’s Name written on their foreheads.”
By confusing these two groups—for example, using the term “144,000 undefiled Jews”—one cannot objectively affirm that the two groups are distinguishable because the Revelation 14:1-5 group of “undefiled” are distinctly followers of the Lamb “wherever He goes” and “these were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.” They are not the sealed of Israel in Revelation 7 awaiting their Messiah Whom they shall declare: “Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the Lord!” as the Millenarian Era is inaugurated. The 144,000 of Israel/Jews are identified with “Moses, the servant of God” (Rev. 15:3) as “servants of God” themselves.
This duality of witness and testimony from the “Divine Perspective” is repeatedly used in the Revelation to distinguish the two “redeemed communities” – to wit: “They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God (Israel), and the song of the Lamb” (the Church)—Revelation 15:3; “They keep the commandments of God (Israel) and have the testimony of Jesus (the Church)—Revelation 12:17; “Here is the perseverance of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God (Israel) and the faith of Jesus (the Church)—Revelation 14:12; “The Two Olive Trees (Israel); and the Two Lampstands (the Church—using the same Greek word [luchnia] as found in Revelation 1:13 of the seven golden lampstands [luchnia]—Revelation 11:4; “The Holy City, Jerusalem . . . twelve gates . . . and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel (Israel) . . . twelve foundations, and on them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb (the Church)—Revelation 21:12-14; and some would even say, since the N.T. canon had not yet been written, that the phrases “Who bore witness to the word of God (Israel/the Old Testament), and to the testimony of Jesus Christ (the Church) so juxtaposed in this manner connote both Israel and the Church as witness and testimony from this same “Divine Perspective” (Revelation 1:2 and 9).
By conflating the two groups of 144,000 the quantum eschatological leap is made which eliminates the distinction between Israel “earthly witness to Gentile World Powers” and the Church’s “heavenly witness to principalities and powers.” On the other hand the “dispensational” notion of Israel and the Church kept completely separate in the Divine schematic simply flies in the face of Revelation’s repeated combination of the two in sundry terms so used.
By misappropriating the entitlement of “undefiled Jews” one either purposefully or inadvertently merges their entitlement; thereby losing the distinctions between Israel and the Church—which, oddly enough, is a dispensational theological disaster!
If one cannot abide a ministry which allegedly rejects Israel’s significance in the latter days because they have distinguished these two groups of 144,000 and have NOT mingled the two because the pre-trib claim that the Church’s presence within the confines, especially the latter half, of Daniel’s Seventieth Week is a non sequitur (viz., the Church’s presence within the Seventieth Week is rejected outright and God simply cannot deal with “two peoples” simultaneously)—is a contention that is indefensible.
To contemplate that “Jacob’s Trouble” just might be the “Church’s Trouble” as well—is a thought which rejects the Blessed Hope or does it? To make such a claim is biblically absurd and borders on the same contention made by folks of post-trib persuasion that pre-tribbers have no intention “if we suffer with Christ we shall reign with Him too.”
To assert that post-tribbers as a result of the above—and perhaps other misunderstandings—do not see the prophetic importance of Israel is simply a falsehood which this author and many within the growing pre-wrath/post-trib persuasion reject outright. The fact of the matter is this: An eschatology which keeps the distinction between Israel and the Church; while theologically demanding that in the Purposes of the Almighty He would in time and space bring the two together as the New Jerusalem aforementioned—NOT SEPARATED-YET DISTINCT—is an eschatology whose time has come for the Latter Days’ Church and for Israel’s vitally essential role in the wrap up toward the establishment of the Millennial Rule & Reign of the Son of David, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Frankly, I find this charge that a post-tribber cannot see Israel’s absolute and essential role in the prophetic schematic of the Last Days simply breathtaking. I think I have sufficient understanding of where brethren like Joe Schimmel, Joel Rosenberg and Jacob Prasch stand on Israel's prophetic integration into the Divine Schematic (i.e., the Purposes of God)—knowing and having viewed in its entirety the recent film: Left Behind or Led Astray (which exposes the underbelly of the pre-trib rapture).
I humbly admit, the film may need some buttressing but I am persuaded that Joe Schimmel, Jacob Prasch and Joel Richardson are CLEAR ON PROPHETIC ISRAEL—perhaps much more so than some would admit. For critics to overtly insinuate that this film and/or their voluminous literature divorces them from Israel’s prophetic role—especially using the term “undefiled Jews”—signals to me that they who state this as proof positive they have “thrown Israel under the bus” are tragically confused in their own eschatological world.
Let me explain. First of all these biblical exponents who do not distinguish between these two groups of 144,000 are mixing apples and oranges. The phrase “undefiled Jews” obviously assumes we are speaking about Revelation 7:1-8—the sealed of Israel upon the Earth prior to the unsealing of the Seventh and last seal when the Wrath of the Lamb shall have commenced. They are sealed upon the earth. They are NOT the same "representative group" of 144,000 mentioned in Revelation 14. That fundamental amalgamation is at the root of their confusion. The 144 "undefiled" are NOT Israelites in the first place mentioned in Revelation 14:1-5.
Revelation 7:1-8 is altogether an earthly scene—Jews/Israel which have not yet greeted their Messiah with: "Blessed is He Who comes in the Name of the LORD" - "You will not see Me again until you say . . . ." (Matthew 23:39). Revelation 7:1-3 introduces these sealed Israelites as representative of Israel (I hasten to add) specifically sealed upon the earth: "Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads." The "earth" is mentioned four times in Rev. 7:1-3—this is absolutely an earthly scene where upon the earth the Israelites are sealed prior to the “harming of the earth”—the Wrath of the Lamb. The divine plan and purpose of the Almighty is in this very "dispensational sense" the choice of Israel to be a witness to the Almighty before Gentile World Powers upon the Earth; whereas, the Church (in this divine orchestration) contends with "principalities and powers in HEAVENLY places" (Eph. 6:12) and is the Almighty's "heavenly witness."
They are not the same group of 144,000 who have been "redeemed from the earth" (Revelation 14:4) and have been declared in resurrection as the "firstfruits to God and to the Lamb." This group of 144,000 are altogether seen from a HEAVENLY perspective just as the vast multitude which have come out of the Great Tribulation, likewise from "all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues" seen in Revelation 7:9-17 who find themselves before the One "Who sits on the throne" and before "the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne" (Rev. 7:15, 17). Even so, the 144,000 in Rev.14:1 have the Father's name written on their foreheads"—the first group of Israelites have been sealed upon their foreheads as "the servants of our God" (cf. "Moses, the Servant of God" in Rev. 15:3) but the second group have "the Father's name written on their foreheads." There is a huge difference here--the one, the Israelites--are designated upon the Earth as the servants of God; the second group are in Heaven having the Father's name written on their foreheads (the Church or Congregation of the First Born).
Nothing of redemption is mentioned in Revelation 7:1-8 in the first group of 144,000—they are PENDING, awaiting their Messiah—the "pierced One" (Zechariah 12:10 and some say Zechariah 13:6) "What are these wounds between your arms? Then he will answer, 'Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.'"). The second group of 144,000 are the "redeemed from the earth" and find themselves atop the heavenly Mount Zion—they readily hear "the voice from HEAVEN" and they sing the NEW SONG of redemption . . . in that "They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth" (Rev. 14:3). Indeed, they are the same group as seen in Revelation 5:9-10 who have been likewise: "Redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation."
No, the second group found in the heavens is not that of Israel who has been sealed upon the Earth in Revelation 7:1-8. This heavenly throng are the blood-bought, blood washed Church of the Living God—the CONGREGATION OF THE FIRST BORN (Hebrews 12:23). Furthermore, "THEY [i.e., all the saints from Adam to Christ] would not be perfected/complete without us [the O.T. saints and the Church] God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us." No, these giants of the faith need us and we need them from Abel up through the age of the Church—WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER—that's who have been redeemed (so far) from the Earth! That's who is atop the heavenly Mt. Zion in Revelation 14:1-5.
Unfortunately, our beloved pre-trib brethren have confused these two separate groups of 144,000 or 144 + 144 = 288. They are the sealed of Israel upon the Earth and those atop the Heavenly Mt. Zion from all the ages up through the terminus of the 70th Week of Daniel! Now is the Lamb's Wrath poured out upon them who "dwell the earth!" Neither the Church of the Living God –the Congregation of the First Born—nor the Israelites sealed on their foreheads as the Servants of God: Shall endure the Wrath of the Lamb.
Both groups of 144,000 are preserved and kept from the "hour of testing which is to try THEM THAT DWELL ON THE EARTH" (Revelation 3:10). We are kept from that hour of testing! The Israelites sealed upon the Earth reflect the same group as recorded in Daniel 12:1: "At that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book" and those found in Zechariah 14:2: "But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city." When this occurs "Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle. And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives . . . Thus the LORD my God will come, and ALL THE SAINTS WITH HIM (You)" (Zechariah 14:3-5, excerpts).
Moreover, the second group of 144,000 are considered as VIRGINS: “These were not defiled with women, FOR THEY ARE VIRGINS." Yes, the Church has been espoused to Christ as a chaste virgin (2 Cor. 11:21); awaiting, I hasten to add, the additional 144,000 Israelites/Jews who shall ultimately constitute the fullness of ONE NEW MAN in the New Jerusalem whose gates bear the names of the 12 Patriarchs of Israel/12 tribes of Israel and whose foundations bear the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb (Rev. 21) - INSEPARABLE but utterly DISTINCT - EARTH (ISRAEL) - HEAVEN (THE CHURCH) - BUT ONE GLORIOUS BRIDE OF MESSIAH!!
What is it about these TWO GROUPS—TWO WITNESSES who sing the SONG OF MOSES (the "servant" of God—as in "servants of God"--i.e., Israel) and the SONG OF THE LAMB (the Church of the Living God (ref. Rev. 15:3); who keep the COMMANDMENTS OF GOD (Israel) and the FAITH OF JESUS (the Church--Ref. Rev. 14:12 ); who keep the COMMANDMENTS OF GOD (Israel) and HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS (the Church--Ref. Rev. 12:17) - that we don't get? The enemy of our souls has cleverly kept us utterly separated but at the end of the age the Cross of the Pierced One shall save us all as our Joseph in the crucible of the 7 years of plenty and the 7 years of famine.
It will be at this time our eyes shall be opened to see who Joseph really is in his relationship with his Hebrew brethren. Interesting, isn't it—we "Egyptians" (Gentiles who have been saved by Joseph) think we know who He is; but only in his direct relationship with “us Egyptians.” Likewise, we think we know who these Hebrews are—but we don't. Then on the other hand His brethren think they know who Joseph is only in His relationship with the Egyptians. It is only when Joseph reveals himself to His brethren that BOTH the Egyptians and the Hebrews finally see who Joseph really is!! SURPRISE, SURPRISE!
Not only are there post-tribbers who see the PROPHETIC SIGNIFICANCE OF ISRAEL—they may see the prophetic significance of Israel perhaps much more clearly than most pre-tribbers do! Not only does THIS pre-wrath/post-trib community understand the prophetic significance of Israel—and I wholeheartedly include in that happy band of brethren the likes of Jacob Prasch, Joel Richardson and, especially, Joe Schimmel—but scores of other post-tribbers, who are altogether awaiting the day when both groups of 144,000 shall comprise that multi-dimensional marvel wherein the New Heavens and the New Earth shall resound with His masterpiece created in Messiah - THE NEW JERUSALEM—THE ONE AND SINGULAR BRIDE OF MESSIAH!
I, would to God, strongly urge those who appear confused (viz., those who see but one group of 144,000) to read my treatise on the TWO WITNESSES (two volumes). Frankly, we have no intention that "Jacob's Trouble" be his own—but that within the crucible of the 70th Week we shall unite under Messiah's leadership awaiting the DAY OF THE LORD when "all Israel shall be saved!"
The prevailing witness of the Church in Matthew 24 up through vs. 15 (i.e., the Abomination of Desolation—the Middle of the Week) bespeaks of that first 1260 days of the Two Witnesses whose testimony cannot be stopped. Their testimony is unmitigated and shall result in "this GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM SHALL BE PREACHED TO ALL THE EARTH"—and then shall the end, the final 42 months; time, times and half a time; 1260 days; 3.5 years/3.5 days, come and the persecution and the perseverance of the saints shall extol the very Passion Week of our Savior, Who for 3.5 days—from 10 Nisan to 13 Nisan—gave unmitigated testimony even upon the cross (through 13 Nisan - Passover Preparation when the Lamb is/was slain) and then for 3 days and 3 nights in the grave (14 Nisan—the Lamb eaten and 15 Nisan Feast of Unleavened Bread) and the 12 hours until He made Himself known on that Sunday morn (the final 3.5 days) on 17 Nisan (the Feast of First Fruits—-the day the Ark of Noah landed IN RESURRECTION atop the Mountains of Ararat (Gen. 8:4—and that Ark was Christ; I Pet. 3:20-21)! My, my—GOD'S TIMING IS PERFECT!
It is my prayer that the current "theological adversities" afflicting the pre-trib and post-trib communities will resound to the glory our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; that those that are approved of God shall be manifested!
The Issue of the “New Song”
A volley of responses to the now somewhat famous or “infamous” (depending on your perspective) film produced by Good Fight Ministries entitled Left Behind or Led Astray—an exposure of the roots of the doctrine of the Pretribulational, Secret Rapture of the Church—wherein pastor Joe Schimmel, Jacob Prasch and Joel Richardson were the primary spokespersons in the film, with later follow-up conducted by Joe Schimmel and Jacob Prasch, and moderated by John Haller, provided grist for a number of pro-anti responses to the film.
My contribution was to examine some of the responses by well-meaning brethren who assert that the pre-tribulational position of the Rapture is “scriptural” and that the Church will, most definitely, rapture prior to the Seventieth Week of Daniel—in other words, these brethren do NOT support the doctrinal claims made in Left Behind or Led Astray. One of the brethren in support of the pretrib position is our beloved brother, David Hocking—with whom I have the greatest respect but whose doctrine relative to the support of the pre-trib rapture I do not support.
David Hocking’s belief of the Pre-Tribulational Rapture of the Church in the context of the defense of Dr. Paul Wilkenson’s refutation of the “Round Table Discussion” conducted between Jacob Prasch and Pastor Joe Schimmel, and moderated by John Haller, drew riveting attention to Revelation 5:9-10 as proof positive that the Church’s Rapture is pre-tribulation in time and space. Wilkenson’s initial diatribe against the content and the brethren involved in the making of “Left Behind or Led Astray” is considered by some to be nigh vitriolic.
Now the words of David Hocking:
None of the attacks and accusations against Dr. Paul Wilkinson, and his classic documentation and support of John Nelson Darby, ever had anything to do with my support and belief in the pretribulation rapture of the church. I came to my conviction by studying God’s Word and especially the J.N. Darby [writing], ‘The Freshness of Faith,’ in The Collected Writings, 21:359-363—Greek manuscripts. I have believed, preached and taught the pre-tribulation rapture of the church long before my connection with the Pre-Trib Research Center in Dallas, Texas.
The supreme issue of all (in my opinion) is the ‘new song’ of Revelation 5:9-10. The usage of the second person plural pronoun (‘us’) forces any Bible scholar to support pre-tribulationalism (the Greek manuscript evidence reveals that out of the 24 manuscript readings available today, 23 read ‘us’ and the only manuscript reading otherwise is Codex Alexandrinus.) [Note: The Codex Alexandrinus uses “them” and “they” vs. “us” and “we” – My emboldening.]
In addition to the usage of ‘us’ in the phrase of verse 9 (‘redeemed us’), the reading of verse 10 is identical to Revelation 1:6.
The anger and hostility evidenced in the writings and messages of these men [the men who participate in the aforesaid film] is not only revealing, but exposing them. The truth of I Thessalonians 4:13-18, along with I Thessalonians 5:1-9 is overwhelming in its support of pre-tribulationalism. It is time to stop the bitterness and to learn the grace and love of our Lord in speaking of Biblical truth. Our viewpoints do NOT authenticate Biblical truth—It is the BIBLE, the whole BIBLE, and nothing but the BIBLE—it is God’s infallible and inspired word!”
Let me say from the outset—I am obviously not “forced” through biblical scholarship to embrace the pre-tribulational position simply because of the use in context of the “new song” as found in Revelation 5:9-10. This and the following backdrop will explain my reasoning.
Donald Grey Barnhouse
David Hocking’s use of Rev. 5:9-10 is similar to that of Donald Gray Barnhouse’s exposition of the same passage. Dr. Barnhouse initially lays a foundation for this “new song” thesis as validation of the pre-trib rapture of the Church by claiming that the 24 elders in Rev. 5:8 are exclusively the Church—there is no proof positive that this is the case at all. If anything—the 24 Elders presented throughout the Revelation are just as likely to be the expression of the Divine Administration wrought through Israel and the Church and significant of the leadership that is likewise expressed in the 12 Gates bearing the names of the 12 patriarchs of Israel/the names of the 12 Tribes of Israel; and the 12 Foundations bearing the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb—i.e., the Church wherein 12 + 12 = 24 juxtaposed to the possibility that they may represent the 24 courses of the Israelite priesthood or even angelic beings (Ref. Revelation 21:9-21).
There is not sufficient indication that the events taking place before the throne in Revelation 5 is a vision which occurs and/or takes place in the future at the so-called end of the Church Age in the mind of the pre-tribulationist which occurs prior to the commencement of Daniel’s 70th Week, yet future.
Rev. 1:5 proclaims that He has made us a “kingdom of priests” (“kings and priests”)—“kingship” demands reigning with Christ a thousand years—precisely. Now, who are the ones who have come “out of great tribulation” in Revelation 7:13-15 who have “washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” if they are not the same multitude before the throne seen in Rev. 5:9 who in BOTH passages hail from “every tribe and tongue and people and nation” (Rev. 5:9; Rev. 7:9)?
Those singing a New Song before the throne also say: “And we shall reign on the earth.” (Rev. 5:10) – Likewise, in Rev. 20:4 the overcoming saints who “had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not receive his mark on their foreheads or on their hands . . . THEY LIVED AND REIGNED WITH CHRIST FOR A THOUSAND YEARS” (Rev. 20:4).
In other words the 24 Elders (Rev. 5:8) are designated (as Barnhouse suggests) exclusive representatives of the redeemed Church) as the antecedent of “they” in Rev. 5:9 who sing a “new song.” Since these 24 Elders represent the Church PRIOR to the commencement of the 70th Week, it will be “them” who reign on the Earth during the Millennium (viz., “they/them” are the “kingdom of priests” mentioned both in Rev. 1:6 and Rev. 5:10). So Barnhouse takes the Codex route and substantiates an argument that the Elders represent the Church prior to the 70th Week regardless of Hocking’s contestations that the majority of texts support the “we/us” proposition and confirm the same thing.
Reigning with Christ a thousand years appears to demand that one may have to lose their heads for Christ! These who are being described in Rev. 7:9 and Rev. 20:4 are redeemed from the earth (as well) out of every “nation, tribe people and tongue”—they are before the throne and before the Lamb—and indeed, they are the same seen in Revelation 15:1-3:
“Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete. And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. THEY SING THE SONG OF MOSES, THE SERVANT OF GOD, AND THE SONG OF THE LAMB.”
Duly noted, these are most definitely the so-called “tribulation saints”—seen as overcoming—they are the same ones found in Revelation 7 and Revelation 5 who are destined to REIGN on the Earth. Revelation 20 is NOT talking about “temple servants” (as per Donald G. Barnhouse)–a sort of second class group of saints—but those redeemed from among men by the blood of the Lamb and who have stood firm by the word of their testimony and have not loved their lives unto the death (Rev. 12:11).
“I will show you things which must take place after this” (Rev. 4:1) does not obfuscate the Church’s presence between Revelation 4 and Revelation 19 in any way, shape or form—to the contrary: The 7 Lampstands (Greek: luchnia) are expressed as the “perfect/complete” work of Christ on the Earth through the Church (Rev. 1-3)—although their administration is local (the churches) they are one glorious Menorah as was the case in Zechariah 4.
Case in point—there are not 7 separate Spirits of God. There is but One perfect (7) Spirit of God Who is given a Seven-fold description—just as there are 7 churches in Asia but they are one in Christ—perfection/complete as 7 but 1. These same “luchnia” reappear as a number set of “2” indicating the Church’s witness in Revelation 11:4 where they are referred to as the TWO LAMPSTANDS (luchnia). Claiming that the Church is not mentioned from Rev. 4 onward is a misnomer in that “7” luchnia is complete perfection and “2” luchnia is the number for the Church’s Witness in that “2” is the Number of Witness and Testimony in Scripture.
The Almighty’s intention is to make us a “kingdom of priests.” Yes, the Lamb has/is taking the Seven-Sealed Scroll and is nigh due to His worthiness to lose the seals thereof—but this in no way is symbolic that He somehow has unseated Himself in demonstration that His work as Intercessor is complete and that He has ceased to hear the prayers of the saints—especially of those of the martyrs—this is proof positive insofar as the martyrs beneath of the Fifth Seal concern—HE MOST DEFINITELY HEARS THEIR PRAYERS and is prepared to mete out vengeance on that day on their behalf but not until their number is complete; and with the completion of that number being on-going straight up until the Sixth Seal opens and “they that dwell on the earth” declare: THE WRATH OF THE LAMB HAS COME.
Barnhouse states: “He is presented to us as One who has laid aside His work in behalf of the Church and has assumed titles indicative of His work for Israel.” There is utterly no basis to validate this claim. The same efficacious blood of the Lamb which saves prior to the 70th Week of Daniel—saves to the uttermost by the same blood of the Lamb within the confines of the 70th Week of Daniel.
In point of glaring redemptive fact:
“And have redeemed us to God by Your blood” (Rev. 5:9); “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (Rev. 7:14); “And they overcame him (the dragon) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (Rev. 12:11).
Barnhouse—who is wholly representative of most pre-trib eschatology—claims:
This scene is laid at the end of the present age after the Church has been gathered to Heaven, after our Lord has risen from His work of intercession. No longer seated at the right hand of God. He is seen walking in Heaven, coming to take the book out of the right hand of God, and proceeding with His work for His own in Israel and among the nations, and proceeding with His work of judgment upon the enemies whom God is now about to make His footstool. (P. 109 – Revelation Commentary, Barnhouse).
The “scene” is just as much a scene of the immediate coming of Christ, as the Glorified Son of Man, coming in the clouds for His redeemed from the earth who from every tribe, people, tongue and nation, have come out of the Great Tribulation, just as much as those seen in Rev. 5. Creating an entirely new class of, quite frankly, second rate “tribulation saints” (obviously redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb) as distinct from the Church creates a host of salvific issues of major consequence—they are not members of Israel, the Gentiles nor the Church but are left in “theological suspension” apparently awaiting to REIGN ON THE EARTH WITH CHRIST as “temple servants?” Come now…
The same group which shall “reign on the earth” are the same tribulation saints found in Revelation 20:4 who will as well “reign with Christ a thousand years”—and where do you suppose that might be? In the heavens? Don’t think so—ON THE EARTH! Later we will discover that some have said that “reigning on the earth” will be the Tribulation Saints but “reigning over the earth” will be the Church . . . another “fancy extrapolation.”
Why is the theme of the “new song” void of the blessing of redemption but somehow “expressed that Christ is about to take the power and exercise dominion?” I ask this question because Dr. Barnhouse and Dr. Hocking suggest that this is a “New Song” centered on the coming judgment AFTER the Church which has been raptured to the heavens and does not center on redemption past but on future retribution upon all them that “dwell on the earth.” That’s why they are singing a New Song—not the “Old Song” of past Church Redemption but the New Song of coming judgment and the release of the seals upon the scroll.
May I suggest that the NEW SONG is based upon the redeeming blood of the Lamb and declares that the Lamb who suffered the first time is altogether worthy to judge righteously the “second time” and that the composite of His righteousness and worthiness are simply two aspects of the same Person and that this is simply incorporated into the NEW SONG. The NEW SONG declares His pending judgment as the WRATH OF THE LAMB based upon His initial sacrifice which gave and gives Him the divine right to open the seals of the scroll—there should be no parsing of His work here as past and future but of the same Person and Work of Jesus Christ both past and future.
The Greek word (Strong’s 4160) poieo is used in Rev. 5:10 in the aorist: “And has made us” is an accomplished fact; however, Greek is a pre-modern ancient language wherein expressions of this nature are “teleological” (teleology). Teleology is a reason or explanation for something in function of its end, purpose or goal. Yes, we are “seated in heavenly places in Christ”—yes, we are made a kingdom of priests—that’s the ultimate destiny of God’s people, the Church. As far as the Greek language concerns: IT’S AN ACCOMPLISHED FACT.
The notion given by both Hocking and Barnhouse is that He has already accomplished the feat of making us a “kingdom of priests” and, therefore, His work of the Church is over. That is NOT the sense given here in the original Greek rendering of “poieo”—it must be understood as teleological—something of an accomplished fact but it is still ongoing. He continues to make others a “kingdom of priests” with us. The scene is not one emphasizing the past work of the Lamb of God but the ongoing work of the Lamb of God—His redemptive work persists via His blood until the very end of the age!
Dr. J. Vernon McGee
This is precisely what Dr. J. Vernon McGee has mind hereunder:
“The change of the pronoun from ‘us’ to ‘them’ is important [apparently McGee did not know of David Hocking’s emphasis upon the majority use of the word “us” vs. the minority use of the word “them” – i.e., Majority text: “And have made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth” – Rev. 5:10 – juxtaposed to the minority text: “And have made them kings and priest to our God; and they shall reign on the earth”]. They are praising the Lamb for those yet to be saved on the earth—the tribulation saints. ‘A kingdom and priests’ refers to the tribulation saints. The church will not reign ‘on’ the earth, but ‘over’ the earth.” (Dr. J. Vernon McGee, Thru the Bible, p 937 – 5th vol.).
Hocking seems to lay stress upon “us/we” who have been redeemed BEFORE the 70th Week of the Daniel yet future, whereas McGee lays stress on the importance of “them/they” referring to the yet future work of redemption upon the “tribulation saints.” Which is it: “us/we” or “them/they?”
I say it is both US/WE and THEM/THEY—for we all (both before and within the time of tribulation) are being made a “kingdom of priests.” This is an on-going work with profound teleological sense attached thereto—until He reigns with His “kingdom of priests” on and over the earth—whichever you prefer!
Singling out redemption through the blood of Jesus as having been completely accomplished prior to the commencement of the 70th Week of Daniel with the “redeemed community” in toto as the Church being raptured is simply not the case given the number of the martyrs as incomplete (Rev. 6 – Fifth Seal); given the fact that the “times of the Gentiles” are obviously unfinished until Gentile World Powers are directly defeated by the coming of the Glorified Son of Man; given the fact that the vast multitude of Tribulation Saints as seen in Revelation 7:9-17 have “washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb”; given the fact that during the 42 months of the reign of the Beast “they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the Word of their testimony and they loved not their lives unto the death” (Rev. 12:11); given the fact that in Rev. 15:3 they shall “sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb”; and given the fact there are “tribulation saints” who had “been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands . . . and they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years” (Rev. 20:4).
In other words—the Lamb’s redemptive work persist straight on through the entire 70th Week of Daniel making us “kings and priests” to “reign on the earth” with the King of kings and Lord of lords—treating the saints of the tribulation (aka, the Seventieth Week of Daniel) as a sort of “second class” group of God’s REDEEMED is an insult both to these brethren as well as to the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit whose work in making the redemption of Christ meaningful and experiential during earth’s most critical hour is absolutely necessary. The work of the Holy Spirit in redemption is not finished at the pre-tribulational rapture of the Church—it is on-going through the 70th Week of Daniel until the coming of the Lord of Glory in Power!
Moreover, we simply cannot obviate the fact that Revelation 14:3 bespeaks of that 144,000 atop the heavenly Mt. Zion which likewise sings that same “new song”—to wit: “They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were REDEEMED FROM THE EARTH . . . These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes . . . These were REDEEMED FROM AMONG MEN, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.”
It is utterly inescapable to circumvent the prospect that what we are viewing is that singular redeemed community who have been redeemed from the earth straight up through the conclusion of the 70th Week of Daniel—this is NOT a heavenly scene prior to the 70th Week but a heavenly scene PRIOR TO THE WRATH OF THE LAMB which does not commence until after the Sixth Seal at the commencement of the Seventh Seal (Rev. 6:12-17 and Rev. 8:1-6).
The succeeding verses in Revelation 14:6-13 do indeed FLASH back to the confines of the 70th Week and prior thereto in which those redeemed from the earth heard that EVERLASTING GOSPEL OF THE GRACE OF GOD that saved to the uttermost by the same blood of the Lamb—yes, the same ones from “every nation, tribe, tongue, and people” (Rev. 14:6) who gloriously responded to the Gospel’s call PRIOR TO THE JUDGMENT OF BABYLON THE GREAT as found in Revelation 14:8 – for “another angel followed, saying ‘Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication’”—along with the third angel who broadcasts the Wrath of God upon all who have accepted the Mark of the Beast . . . and this is indeed the retributive vengeance now meted out in response to the martyrs under the Fifth Seal, for we read: “HERE is the endurance of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus . . . Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on . . . Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them” (Rev. 14:12).
The Two Harvests
Then we read of the dual harvests—the one unto everlasting life (Rev. 14:14-16) and the other unto everlasting condemnation (Rev. 14:17-20). This completely parallels the recording found in Daniel 12:2: “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt.” The point being—the “redeemed from the earth” who sing the “new song” find themselves in glory prior to the Wrath of God and the Lamb and Babylon’s demise—in point of glaring fact, this “celestial posture” is confirmed in Revelation 18:4 – AND SHOULD BE USED AS A RAPTURE PROOF TEXT: “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues” (for God’s people are as Israel spared from Pharaoh’s first-born who are judged; as well as from Babylon’s ultimate demise. This is by DIVINE INTERVENTION—not by moving off into some jungle somewhere . . . although I do not condemn those who have done so in their attempt to flee Babylon).
This above paragraph is substantiated, I affirm, by the “loud voice” heard in Revelation 11:12 after the “open persecution” of the TWO WITNESSES, who, after a peculiar 3.5 days of their body (not "bodies" but singular, as in "corpse") lying in the street of the Great City, which time frame could certainly mean the same 42 months; time, times and half a time; the 1,260 days; or 3.5 years; or one-half of the week of 3.5 days of Daniel’s 70th Week when they hear: “COME UP HERE . . . and they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them” (Rev. 11:12). So much for the “secret pre-tribulation rapture of the Church) and immediately thereafter there is clearly the WRATH OF THE LAMB HAS COME for “In the same hour there was a GREAT EARTHQUAKE, and a tenth of the city [what city? – Babylon the Great that awful “10” is fractured, judged] fell. In the earthquake seven thousand [“7” perfection of judgment] people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven. Then and only then do we hear: “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Rev. 11:15-18).
Again, the scene in Revelation 14:1-5 where the “new song” is sung is “heavenly in nature." It hearkens back to the very same scene found in Revelation 7:9-17 wherein we read: “Therefore they are before the throne of God . . . for the Lamb who is in the midst of throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters”—both (Rev. 7:9-17 and Rev. 14:1-5) are projected into a “heavenly scene.”
However, that said, we cannot with absolute clarity suggest that this group of 144,000 (Rev. 14:1-5) is the same group of 144,000 found in Revelation 7:1-8 who are not found in the heavens but are obviously sealed upon the earth—with the “earth” mentioned 4 times in Rev. 7:1-3 alone. These are the 144,000 of Israel sealed upon the earth prior to the opening of the Seventh Seal and the commencement of the Wrath of the Lamb!
Thus, there are TWO GROUPS: Prophetic Israel prepared to welcome their Messiah AFTER the Wrath of the Lamb with: “For I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’” (Matthew 23:39) . . . and “Blessed is he who waits and comes to the 1,335th day” (Daniel 12:12).
The Everlasting Gospel - What is It?
“Us” or “we” – “them” or “they” sing a New Song (Rev. 5:9; 14:3) – not of creation but of REDEMPTION BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB—for they are the “redeemed from the earth” “who have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb” (Rev. 7:14). This is our testimony. The Church has borne witness to this redemption in the past, in the present and into the future—His work of redemption via THIS GOSPEL SHALL BE PREACHED TO ALL THE WORLD AS A WITNESS—then shall the end come. This is NOT the so-called Gospel of the Millennial Rule and Reign of the Son of David allegedly preached by the Jewish remnant during the tribulation—it is the same EVERLASTING GOSPEL OF THE GRACE OF GOD in which only the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ can save to the uttermost!
Those who suggest that the “Everlasting gospel” preached during the 70th Week by the Jewish Remnant is the message of the future Millennial Rule and Reign of the Son of David upon His Throne (Revelation 14:6) or who attempt to twist the Scriptures in suggesting that Matthew 24:14 (i.e., “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come”) is the same as their interpretation of Revelation 14:6, are naught but preaching ANOTHER GOSPEL having absolutely nothing to do with the Gospel of the Grace of God wherein redemption through the blood of Jesus is the only means whereby we must be saved from God’s judicial and judgmental wrath (viz., the Wrath of the Lamb).
Alas! The gospel they suggest is preached by the supposed Jewish Remnant is nothing more than a makeover of the Social Gospel preached today by a compromised, so-called tolerant and diversified apostate form of Christianity ill-prepared for the strident witness given by the Two Witnesses found in Revelation 11 who come in the “spirit of Elijah and Moses” who are not here to “win friends and influence people.” Their death will be celebrated as they are persecuted by them who dwell on the earth with: “And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets TORMENTED those that dwell on the earth.”
So the question abides: Are we ready to sing the New Song and to TORMENT them who dwell on the Earth—who have their fingers in the dirt of this earthly clod (as Ray Stedman suggests in his commentary on the Revelation, God’s Final Word—p. 249)? The Song of the Redeemed came at the greatest price: The gift of His beloved Son, the Lamb of God. The Testimony of Jesus comes at a phenomenal price: “They overcame him (the dragon) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death!” (Rev. 12:11)—the same BLOOD OF THE LAMB mentioned throughout this tome.
Further Insights into the 70th Week
This third addendum sheds greater light on the Seventieth Week of Daniel and is a response to a Malcolm Bell who requested a little help on the reconciliation of the 365.2524 lunisolar calendar with the 360-day Prophetic Calendar and the Lunar Hebrew Sacred Calendar in reference to the 70th Week of Daniel.
To some extent this reconciliation can be done; however, the Bible's “prophetic thrust” is amplified in the use of the 360-day Prophetic Calendar because it comports more readily with the Hebrew Festival Calendar. This is the intent of the presentations in both Daniel and Revelation.
I attempted to use the lunisolar 365.2524/365.2422-day year (established when Hezekiah’s life was extended 15 years in approximately 639 B.C.) and overlay it upon the 70th Week + 1 year unto the first Feast of Tabernacle.
Fundamentally, the 70 Weeks vision of Daniel is based upon a 360-day prophetic year for the Week and proof of that is found in the Revelation wherein the 1260-Day prevailing prophesy of the Two Witnesses is juxtaposed to the 42 months’ reign of the Beast and/or the treading asunder of the Holy City by the Court of the Gentiles found in Revelation 11:2 and Rev. 13:5 (i.e., 42 months x 30-day prophetic month = 1260 days).
These 1260 days of the prevailing witness of the Two Witnesses when finished are confronted by the Beast from the Abyss (Rev. 11:7) who shall make war against the Two Witnesses (whom I believe, therefore, must be corporate beings—Two Olive Trees (Israel) and Two Lampstands (the luchnia of Rev. 1-3)—the Church;. “Their dead body (corporate and singular - Greek - patoma as in corpse . . . shall experience “open persecution”) “lie in the street of the Great City [Babylon] for three-and-one-half days” or three years and 6 months or 42 months or time, times and half a time or 1260 days.
The 84 hours of the Half Week and the 168 hours of the Full Week
The concept of the 70th Week overlaid upon the Passion Week bears remarkable resemblance in that from Nisan 10 (Palm Sunday/Triumphal Entry) of Jesus unto Passover Preparation Day when the Pascal Lamb is slain is precisely 3.5 days of a 7-day week (Sunday-12 hours; Monday-24 hours; Tuesday-24 hours and Wednesday the full 13th of Nisan-24 hours = 84 hours or 1/2 of the week as the period of TESTIMONY even upon the cross--thus, after 62 weeks or 7 weeks + 62 weeks = 69 weeks was Messiah "cut off" according to Daniel 9:24-26 or after 4 “days” (daylight or “mornings” over a 3.5 day time frame) was Messiah “cut off” for 4 days is needed to inspect the Pascal Lamb: “I find no fault in Him” (Pontius Pilot).
The latter half of the Week is fraught with the “War on the Saints”—and “some of you shall be tossed by the Devil into prison for 10 days” (Rev. 2:10) only to receive “the crown of life”—even so our Lord Jesus was in the grave 3 days and 3 nights (according to the sign of the prophet Jonah) but remained occluded that Sunday evening only to be manifested in resurrection on Sunday morning to Mary for He is the Light of Life—thus Thursday (Passover-14 Nisan); Friday (Feast of Unleavened Bread-15 Nisan); Saturday-16 Nisan; and then 12 hours on Sunday evening which commenced the Feast of First Fruits for He is Risen Indeed—or 3.5 more days to equal to 7 days (10-17 Nisan) over an 8-day time frame wherein Sunday to Sunday is used and open the door to the 8th Day/Year seen here under.
Therefore, there are 84 hours in the latter half of His Passion Week to match the “latter half of the Week of Daniel” which total 84 + 84 = 168 total hours in the Passion Week of Christ. Viewed in months the 70th Week of Daniel has 42 months the first half and 42 months the second half which equals to 84 months.
This peculiar “discrepancy” is quite divine in its intent in that if we mix apples and oranges on these two weeks (i.e., the Passion Week of Christ and the Seventieth Week of Daniel) we find that 168 (hours) + 84 (months) or 168 + 84 = 252 or the fractal/resemblance of the Hebrew Sacred Cubit’s 25.20.
The Coming of the glorified Son of Man will be AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH in which the 360-day calendar year was in vogue. Cataclysmic events which may inaugurate the Seventieth Week could readily speed up the astronomical clock—although this is not necessary.
Without the Hebrew Sacred Calendar NONE of this can be reconciled. I am of the persuasion that from “the divine perspective” the 360-day calendar will again come into vogue for the final and future Week of Daniel, the so-called 70th Week. It is, however, some fascination to this author/researcher that there are really a total of 8 years involved 7 years x 360 = 2520 days (which is a reflection of the Hebrew Sacred Cubit of 25.20 inches). The final year as you can tell from my charts of an additional 8th year of 360 days brings the total number of days of the 70th Week plus the additional year to 2880 days (2520 + 360 = 2880) with 5 days added on to equal to 2885 days.
We then have these extra 5 days—what shall we do with them from 10 Tishrei to 15 Tishrei? Are they "outside" the 8 years? Yes and no. We can drop the zero to see things better wherein we find that 288 X 5 = 1,440 or the "144" of the New Jerusalem caped with the two sets of "144" found within the 2880 days or 2 x 144 - 288. ALSO, if we add on to the 360 days the 5.2524 lunisolar days the total over an 8-year timeframe is 42 days (5.2524 x 8 years = 42.0192 or rounded clearly to “42”). This “42” is exceedingly significant as a number set only in that “42” comports to the two prophetically potent two sets of “42s” used in both the O.T. (2 Kings 2:23-24 wherein the 42 lads are slain AFTER Elijah is raptured and after Elisha heals the cursed waters of Jericho as a type of Babylon the Great’s judgment—no more curse and in 2 Kings 10:12-14 when the 42 brothers of King Ahaziah are slain AFTER the 70 sons of Ahab are slain; illustrating to us that it is wholly AFTER the 70th Week that the “42” is judged (?) . . . and this following hard on the heels of Jezebel's slaying as indicative of Mystery Babylon’s demise at the end of 70 years (Isaiah 23:15-18) with the body parts of Jezebel strewn on the “plot of Jezreel” which is where Naboth was slain (1 Kings 21) and thus the Almighty’s vengeance repaid for those who have suffered under the Fifth Seal--VENGEANCE IS MINE I WILL REPAY SAITH THE LORD!
This accounting of Jezebel’s demise is all the more significant—not only from the perspective of Isaiah 23:15-18 wherein Tyre will “at the end of seventy years . . . return to her hire” but the very fact immediately following the account of Jezebel’s violent death there is the account of the “Seventy Sons of King Ahab” being slain by King Jehu (2 Kings 10:1-11). I cannot but see in this chronology Babylon’s ultimate demise (Jezebel—the Woman Rides the Beast—Revelation 17) at the end of the 70 years, the 70th Week!
Also, in the N.T. in both Rev. 11:2 and Rev. 13:5 the two additional and most prophetic sets of “42” pertain to the latter half of the 70th Week insofar as time frames of 42 months concern (42 lads, 42 brothers of King Ahaziah, 42 months of the Holy City being tread asunder by the Court of Gentiles and 42 months of the Reign of the Beast, Rev. 11:2; 13:5).
The Genealogies in Matthew and Luke of Jesus
Furthermore, Matthew’s gospel (Matthew 1:17) highlights the three sets of 14 generations or 14 x 3 = 42 generations and Luke’s gospel commences with Jesus and goes back through Joseph unto David in which there are precisely 42 generations (Joseph to David) so mentioned and then from Jesse (David's father) unto Adam where are precisely 33 generations with Jesus and God as bookends totaling 77 generations. This number set of “33” is Messiah’s Number for our calculations determined He died at precisely 33 years of age, having been born on a Passover, He died on a Passover—He died on His birthday at 33 years of age and in the year 33 A.D.
When 42 + 33 combines they equal to “75” and this “75” is a fractal/resemblance of the additional 75 days found in Daniel 12:11-12 wherein the work of Messiah is completed both as the Wrath of the Lamb seen in the first 30 days (unto the 1290th Day) and the additional 45 days unto the 1,335th Day—i.e., His Coming in Glory.
All that the Glorified Son of Man does in pouring out His Wrath and coming as the Sun of Righteousness with Healing in His Wings thereafter (i.e., the full 75 days) is for the New Jerusalem in that 75 days X 24 hours = 1,800 hours x 60 minutes = 108,000 minutes X 60 seconds = 6,480,000 ÷ 2 = 3,240,000 or “324” which is a fractal/resemblance of the Wall of the New Jerusalem’s 144 Cubits X 2.1 ft. (Hebrew Sacred Cubit measurement) = 302.4 Ft. with the other “18s” being, of course, the full 18,000-mile 12-edged perimeter of the New Jerusalem herself in that 12,000 furlongs x 660 ft. (one furlong) = 7,920,000 ft. ÷ 5,280 (one mile) = 1,500 miles X 12 Edges of the Cubed NJ = 18,000 linear miles = “18” (Rev. Revelation 21:16-17).
Overlaying the “42” upon the Seventieth Week
Thus, the 42 can actually be “overlaid” upon the entire 70th Week + 1 Year (the 8th Year which “8” bespeaks of “new beginnings”) as the “42” is over all these 8 years. I am not bothered by the calculations produced by the lunisolar year vs. the 360-Day Prophetic Calendar year. In fact, I’m duly impressed with the differentials.
I am altogether impressed that the two sets of 42 in the O.T. which occur AFTER the Rapture of Elijah are equal to 84 (42 + 42 = 84) and can readily be seen as a fractal/resemblance of 84 hours found in “three-and-one-half days” or 3 years and 6 months or one-half of a week (i.e., 3 days = 24 hrs. x 3 = 72 hours + one-half a day = 12 hours; therefore: 72 + 12 = 84 hours).
The second set of 42s in the N.T. are likewise equal to 84 and consequently 4 x 42 = 168 which is the number of hours in a Week. When the “overlay” of Messiah’s “42” found in Matthew's accounting (14 + 14 + 14 generations = 42 generations—Matthew 12:17) is placed over the 168 or added thereto it tallies: 168 hours + 42 hours = 210 hours. Here we see the “measure of Christ” which I affirm equates to the very 2520 days or the Hebrew Sacred Cubit itself wherein 25.20 inches ÷ 12 inches = 2.1 ft. or “21.”
Moreover, if the “210” is configured as “hours” (for we have used 168 hours for the Week itself or 84 hours [one-half week] + 84 hours [one-half week] = 168 hours)—then 210 hours X 60 minutes = 12,600 minutes or the fractal of one-half of the Seventieth Week’s 1260 days. When we multiply 12,600 minutes x 60 seconds we arrive at 756,000 seconds which interestingly enough equates to the 30 cubits of Solomon's Mystical Sea of Cast Bronze found in 2 Chron. 4:2 (i.e., 30 cubits circumference at 25.20 inches each X 30 cubits = 756 inches which in turn is a fractal of edge of the Great Pyramid of Giza at 756 feet—as per Isaiah 19:19.
All this to say that if we commence the 70th Week on a Passover it would ostensibly end on an eighth Passover some 2520 days hence, given a 360-day prophetic year. This provides (using the Hebrew Calendar as used from the original Passover during the Exodus and the conversion at the time wherein Nisan was moved from the seventh month to the first month in Egypt at the first Passover—Exodus 12:1-3) from Passover (14 Nisan) unto 40 days (the Ascension of Christ from Mt. Olivet) for the Gog-Magog War which will necessitate 7 months cleansing of the land thereafter (Ezk. 39:12) or 210 days to clean up the bodies of the dead (7 months X 30 days = 210 days from the land (probably radiated).
This 210 days will be matched with an additional 210 days between Purim in 2026 unto the Feast of Tabernacles (14/15 Adar unto 14/15 Tishrei) or another 7 months—so that 210 + 210 = 420 or another set of “42.” (Note: The latter 210 set commemorates the defeat of the Anti-Christ/Beast—for Purim is in celebration of the defeat of the archetype of the Antichrist—Haman-and his 10 sons making the number “11” which comports to the number of the Antichrist being “11” as in the “younger” or “eleventh” horn springing up from the 10 horns in Daniel 7.)
I realize to some of you this is a review—but it is necessary. There are precisely 250 days from any given Passover unto Kislev 24/25 (Feast of Dedication/Lights) or 14/15 Nisan unto 24/25 Kislev = 250 days. This would be perfect timing for the dedication of the Third Temple and perfectly aligns the fulfillment of the 2300 day prophecy given in Daniel 8:13-14 (vision of the “evening/morning sacrifice”). That vision is critical to the overall configurations within and outside the 70th Week leading us into the 75 days found in Daniel 12:11-12. In Daniel 12:11 we find there are 1290 days of desolations; therefore, in order to arrive at the 2300 days of "sacrifice and desolation" we simply do a little algebraic problem wherein:
x + 1290 = 2300 or 2300 - 1290 = x
Therefore x =1010 days of sacrifice
Proof: 1010 + 1290 = 2300 days of sacrifice and desolation/transgression
Therefore 40 days + 210 days + 1010 days = 1260 days = the first half of the week –there are precisely 1260 days between any initial Passover starting point. Then we add 3.5 years and you will find yourself precisely on the Feast of Tabernacles (some 42 months later). Passover to Feast of Tabernacles embraces all the 7 feast days. This “Middle of the Week” comports to Matthew 24:14-15 and to Revelation 11:7—this is THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION—this is the fulfillment of the identification of the Man of Sin, the Son of Perdition, the Lawless One found in 2 Thess. 2:2-12.
After this shall be the time of Jacob’s Trouble/Great Tribulation for 42 months; time, times and half a time; 3.5 days/3.5 years or the final 1260 days the latter half of the 70th Week. It ends at the END OF THE WEEK.
Now when David Flynn and I (apart from one another) considered this enigma (i.e., How could the Seventieth Week commence on a Passover and end on a Passover—when the Feast of Trumpet would be approximately six months later?); we had concluded that the three feast days unfulfilled by Christ would be the Feast of Trumpets, Atonement (at least the 2nd half as the Wrath of the Lamb has come) and the Feast of Tabernacles (Zach. 14) . . . but what of the six-months issue?
The only way this can happen is for a DIVINE ADJUSTMENT OF THE HEBREW CALENDAR REVERTING BACK TO THE DAYS OF NOAH SO SHALL IT ALSO BE IN THE DAYS OF THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN. Therefore, this arbitrary altercation would mean that the Hebrew Calendar would as it was at the first Passover revert back to the day when Tishrei was the first month and Nisan the seventh month.
This would stand to “divine reason” in that the Almighty will be, through the Lamb of God, pouring out His Wrath in the final 30 days of the days of desolation (1260 + 30 = 1290 days) . . . as was the case in Noah’s day. The “differential” between Noah's 40 days and the 30 days in Daniel of the Lamb’s Wrath is “10” days. These “10 days” highlight the judgment upon the “10” (i.e., 10 kings, 10 horns, 10 crowns, 10 days in prison, 1/10 of the City (Rev. 11) and the Image of the Beast with 10 toes and the 10 plagues of Egypt and the 10 sons of Haman, etc.)
This means that 1 Tishrei to 10 Tishrei or the 10 days of Awe will have the trumpets blast and the LAST TRUMP shall be sounded on the Day of Atonement to declare liberty throughout the land as it was so used/found in Lev. 25:9: “Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land”—now this “seventh month” is 10 Tishrei but it shall revert to the first month but still as Tishrei—and it shall be the “10” that the Lamb’s Wrath shall confront.
Then on 10/11 Cheshvan/Heshvan shall be the Second Coming of Messiah which is the date commemorating Rachel’s burial (and His complete victory over the “10” by coming on the 10th/11th of Cheshvan)—but her weeping shall cease! The resurrection/rapture shall take place at the close of the 2520 days and then 30 days later shall be the 45 days as per Daniel 12:12 and BLESSED IS HE WHO WAITS AND COMES TO THE 1335th DAY (45 days beyond the 1290th Day) for “45” is the coming of the Sun of Righteousness and this “45” dominates the O.T. record for such confirmations as this! (Note: Among other items the “45” comports to the “salvation” of the 8 in Noah’s Ark in that 300 cubits X 30 cubits X 50 cubits (the dimensions of the Ark of Noah as found in Genesis 6:15) = 450,000 cubic cubits or the “45.”
So from 10 Tishrei unto 10 Cheshvan is 30 days and 10 Cheshvan unto 25 Kislev there are 45 days (20 in Cheshvan and 25 in Kislev or 45 days) and this brings us to Daniel 9:24: “TO ANOINT THE MOST HOLY PLACE”—AND THE DEDICATION OF THE MILLENNIAL TEMPLE on 24/25 Kislev.
Then there are 80 days unto 14/15 Adar when PURIM takes place. This will also be the same time that the final BLOOD MOON appears of the two sets of triad blood moons during these time frames 2017 to 2026. Thus: 75 days + 80 days brings us into the Eighth Year (the time of New Beginning) to the 155th day; now if we add unto the Feast of Tabernacles for the final fulfillment of the Feast Days by Christ in that 2026 year we will arrive at 15 Tishrei or 155 days + 210 days = 365 days which is virtually a full-blown lunisolar year in and of itself. Likewise, this second set of 210 days if added to the first set of 210 within the 70th Week gives us the aforesaid “42”—a “pregnant number set” of great significance.
The Mathematics Found in Numbers 31:25-35 Validates the 25.20 inches of the
Hebrew Sacred Cubit and the Seventieth Week

David, who has a math background, kept examining the accounting going on in Numbers 31:25-35 and devised a most unique formula which utterly substantiated the 2520 days of Daniel’s 70th Week.

The booty remaining from the plunder, which the men of war had taken, was “six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep, seventy-two thousand cattle, sixty-one thousand donkeys, and thirty-two thousand persons in all, of women who had not known a man intimately.”
So we add the plunder. ..675,000 +72,000 +61,000 + 32,000 and it comes to 840,000. This is a fractal of 84 which represents the total number of months in 7 years (7x12=84).
And don’t miss the fact that this plunder was to be split in half: 420,000 given to the army and 420,000 given to the assembly. The fractal 42 is recognized. Daniel’s final week (7 years) will be divided into a first 42 months and a second 42 months separated by the Abomination of Desolation.
Now . . . the percentages themselves do not seem significant. They all leave long decimals. However, I decided to multiply each fraction by 2520 and that led to sobering interesting.
675/840 = 0.80357142857+ X 2520 = 2025. With no decimals at all! Did God encode the end of the age in AD 2025?
72/840 = 0.0857142857+ X 2520 = 216 (again no decimals!) Did God also encode the number of God (72x3?) Or is it a nod to the end destruction of the Man of Sin (6x6x6?)
Those two seen pretty clear. The next two I don’t know and need your insight. Perhaps you recognize the significance.
61/840 = 0.072619047619048 X 2520 = 183 (again, no numbers past the decimal)
32/840 = 0.038095238095238 X 2520 = 96 (again, no decimals - all are whole numbers)
The factors of 96 are 12 and 8, so this may mean something about the marriage union of Jesus (8) and the church (12). Or does 12 mean rule? If so then it shows the rule of Christ beginning.

The sum of these elaborate configurations are equal to 2520!
Your original total gave you 840,000 X 2520 and so that you might rejoice all the more: 8400 ÷ 252 = 33.33333333333333333333333333333333333333 into infinity!!
I purposefully laid stress on confining the 840,000 to two zeroes (i.e., 8400) to highlight Messiah's “33” but it goes without saying: nothing but 3s. There is the Father 3 and the Son (33—well, of course, two sets of 3 because He is the Son @ “33” and then the Holy Spirit at 333 for He completes the Triune God), why not? You have discovered a rare find indeed!!
Did God encode the end of the age in AD 2025? Powerful possibility there! Does the 216 connote Name of God (72 + 72 + 72 = 216 and the 21,600 Nautical Earth in Miles and the Diameter of the Moon or 216 x 4 [cubed] = 864 (fractal of the Sun’s 864,000 mile diameter)?
Now 183 can be “seen as” either “18” and “3” or 1 + 8 + 3 = 12 or as 1 x 8 x 3 = 24 or as 1 + 8 = 9 and 3 and then 9 x 3 = 27.

The Age of Adam - 930 Years
I have often pondered on the “day you eat of it you shall surely die.” However, Adam did not die within 24 hours but lived until he was 930 years of age (Gen. 5:5); therefore, since the Rabbinic understanding was that a “day” constituted 1,000 years and comports to Psa. 90:4 in the LXX – “Because a thousand years in Your sight are as the day” and, of course to that of 2 Peter 3:8-10 in that a “day is as a thousand years.”
That said as a backdrop; then why did Adam live but 930 years (Gen. 5:5)? I now am confirmed in that his life pictures the climatic history of humanity and that he was shy 70 years until the 1,000th Year/Day. Thus, at the end of man’s time/accounting there would be 6,000 years shy by 70 years and this lays stress upon the 70th Week all the more and upon Tyre returning to her hire and committing fornication with all the kingdoms of the world on the face of the earth (Isa. 23) and upon 1948 (Israel's rebirth) + 70 = 2018 A.D. and then the 70th Week itself? It is really very convincing and all the more in that 70 years x 360 prophetic days in a year = 25,200 days and the Hebrew Sacred Cubit displays itself—leading us all the more to the final 2520 days of human history as we know it to be!
How could the Bible be so inspired? Naturally, the 930 years X 360 (days in a prophetic year or degrees in one rotation of the earth) = 334,800 days + 25,200 days (70 years) = 360,000 days X 24 hours = 8,640,000 X 60 minutes = 5...18...4 or the New Jerusalem as the “expression” (for she sits within the 54) of the Optimal Expression of Societal Harmony X 60 seconds = 311,040 (eliminating zeroes) ÷ by 144 = 2,160 and presto the name of God and the Moon's Diameter and Earth’s Nautical Circumferences appear.
Adam's 930 years baffle and tell us not so much of their own meaning as in 9 X 3=27 (the full revelation of Messiah as found in the 27 books of the New Testament canon) but of their missing “70.” Again 70 X 360 prophetic days = 25,200 or the 2,520 of Daniel’s Seventieth Week or the 25.20 inches of the Hebrew Sacred Cubit.
